One of the fields in which the L-A area continues to see steady demand is health care. With two major hospitals, 20+ assisted living facilities, and dozens of pharmacies, there remains a substantial need for qualified health care professionals.
Lewiston Adult Education's latest addition, the “Career Transitions: Health Care Edition” program, will be piloted this winter to help meet that need by supporting members of the community who would like to transition into a college program in the health sciences.
This program, offered at no cost to participants, will involve academic skill refreshing, intensive career advising and planning, and support networking while going through the college and financial aid application process.
