Whether you are gearing up for college or changing careers, Lewiston Adult Ed's summer courses are a great first step.
The College Transitions Program is the easiest way to insure your success in college. This 12-week program provides an academic refresher, covers study skills, test taking, time management, and computer skills. The summer session starts on May 22 and is held at the B Street Community Center. Call today to begin your application process.
Other summer courses include: Computer/Office Skills courses such as “Microsoft for the Workplace,” “MS Excel I,” “MS Excel II,” “QuickBooks Workshop,” and “Office Practice.” Most of these courses provide credit towards Lewiston Adult Education’s Clerical, Medical Office and Accounting Assistant Certificates. Classes begin July 10 and are held at Lewiston High School.
Other certificate courses will include the “Culinary Arts Certificate” and a “Certified Nursing Assistant” (CNA) training course. The CNA course will start June 19th, and interviews will be held June 6th & 7th at 3:00 pm.
Academic classes that offer High School Diploma credit as well as college/nursing school prerequisite credit will also be available, including “Algebra,” “Applied Algebra,” “Biology,” “Chemistry” and “Critical Reading Strategies for College or Work.”
GED, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Citizenship and Adult Basic Education classes are also available year-round, and are held at the Adult Learning Center at 145 Birch St.
