People interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant can take steps toward a new job by signing up for interviews and testing for the Fall CNA program at Lewiston Adult Education.
All students must take the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) exam and interview before they can be considered for the program. They will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. and on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m.
The CNA course focuses on nursing theory and application, including basic anatomy and physiology. Once students finish the classroom portion of the course, they will participate in a full-time, two-week clinical experience at local hospitals and nursing homes.
Classes begin on Sept. 13 and are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program costs $975 with a $145 test fee.
