Lewiston Adult Education students will put on a live performance later this month featuring the material they wrote as part of a six-week Standup Comedy Workshop.

The show will be held at Guthrie's Restaurant & Café', located at 115 Middle St. in Lewiston, on Monday, April 16 at 6 p.m.  It will be hosted by Maine Event Comedy producer, Mark Turcotte, and is open to the public at no charge.

It is the third annual performance by Lewiston Adult Education students at Guthrie's.

Professional comedian Dawn Hartill taught the class.

"It was my pleasure to share my experience and help guide the work of these aspiring comedians. They have worked very hard and I am so proud of each and every one of them," she said.

The students, who have careers in a variety of fields including writing, banking, information technology, and actuarial support, have worked with Hartill to develop a solid stand-up comedy routine. They focused on premise, punchlines, and stage presence.
