Build Your Future: The Lewiston Construction Training Program Starts Next Year

Earn a Work Ready credential, NCCER, OSHA 10, RRP certification and learn all about workplace safety, hand and power tools, along with measuring, fractions, and basic geometry in the Construction Training Program.

Students get work experience with local employers and may be eligible for on-the-job training upon completion of classes. It is scheduled to begin in February 2021. 

To qualify, participants must: pass the CASAS test in reading and math, have the ability to work in the United States, and successfully complete an eligibility screening. Participants should be able to pass an employer-sponsored drug screening.

Information Sessions are scheduled for  December 7, December 11, and December 16 at the Adult Learning Center. It is located in the Longley Multipurpose Center on 145 Birch St. in Lewiston.

The John T. Gorman Foundation, Community Concepts, Fedcap, Eastern Maine Development Corporation, the Lewiston CareerCenter, the city of Lewiston, Goodwill Take 2, are the Central Maine Workforce Development Board are the design team partners for the program.

    The Reading Hour

    A weekly virtual meeting reading short stories and poems that illuminate the American Experience from a variety of perspectives.
