Lewiston Adult Education Offers Free Technology Course

posted on April 22, 2022

Greg Yates will serve as the instructor of the upcoming Applied Technology in the Workplace class offered through Lewiston Adult Education.

A free Lewiston Adult Education computer class that starts in May will help students earn professional certifications for future employment.

Lewiston Adult Education is offering Applied Technology in the Workplace in partnership with Androscoggin and Oxford County Adult Education programs. Greg Yates will be the teacher.

Upon successful completion of the class, students will earn certification in Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3), a WorkReady credential and a digital course completion certificate.

Employers recognize IC3 certifications as the global standard for digital literacy. It also validates an applicant’s computer skills and serves as an excellent foundation for earning other certifications.

The class is scheduled to begin on May 10. Applied Technology in the Workplace will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“It’s an all-in-one integrated course, built with you and your employment success at the heart of it,” Lewiston Adult Education Director Jen Tiner said.

Classes will be held simultaneously at Region 9 in Rumford, MSAD 52 in Turner, MSAD 44 in Bethel and at Lewiston Adult Education in Lewiston.

For more information and to register for Applied Technology in the Workplace, call Lewiston Adult Education at 207-784-2928.
