Veteran Lewiston educator Bernie Fortier will teach a trio of new classes as part of the Winter-Spring 2024 semester at Lewiston Adult Education.
A familiar face from Lewiston High School will teach three classes at Lewiston Adult Education during the Winter-Spring 2024 semester.
Bernie Fortier, who retired as a Latin teacher at Lewiston High School in 2023, will present classes on financial literacy, Latin for legal/business terms and Latin for medical terms. His and many new and returning teachers’ listings will appear in the new Lewiston Adult Education brochure, scheduled to arrive in mailboxes around Jan. 20.

Nicole Hastings of the Physics and Astronomy Department at Bates College will discuss the total eclipse taking place on April 8, 2024. It will have its zone of totality, or total darkness, in northern Maine. Hastings will give her talk at Bates College.
For exercise enthusiasts, Becki Leighton will bring back two popular classes, Chair Zumba and Power Stretch, and Rosa Storer will be teaching another session of Livin’ It Up Line Dancing and a new class, Twerkout.
