Maine College Transitions at CMCC – LER115

Are you considering going to college? Join the Maine College Transition Program, Spring 2021. This FREE program focuses on reading, writing, and skills you need to succeed in college. Students will learn schedule management, course management, and self-management. We will have an expanded focus on finding and applying for scholarships. The 14-week session will have Tuesday and Thursday sessions. During the course students will visit with local colleges; the USM - the University of Southern Maine, CMCC - Central Maine Community College, MCHP - the Maine College of Health Professions, and UMA - the University of Maine at Augusta. Guest speakers from other great Maine organizations, such as FAME and the MEOC, will also provide support and services throughout the semester. Be a Hero: Learn About Becoming a Foster Parent

This one time session will cover issues relevant to becoming a foster parent in Maine. Policies and procedures that apply to foster/adoptive licensure as well as how to access available resources and supports will be covered. Once you have completed the session, you will be asked to answer ten questions. When you answer the questions correctly you may request an application for licensure. The session is available in two formats and is open to anyone who is a resident of Maine over the age of 21. One option is a Watch Party on ZOOM, followed by a question and answer period. This happens on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30 to 8pm. The second option gives the opportunity to watch a video at your convenience via an email link. This class is ideal for people who are experiencing a wide range of chronic, non-cancer related pain conditions. Participants learn practical tools to help develop self-management skills and develop positive behavior change. This program is run by peer leaders who understand just how challenging it can be to make our own health and wellness a priority. Throughout this six week session you’ll learn how to boost your energy, improve mood and decrease fatigue.
