Lewiston Adult Education will host an orientation session on Tuesday, January 28 at 9 a.m. at the Lewiston CareerCenter on 5 Mollison Way in Lewiston.
The session will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will review the workforce training program that will have no cost to eligible participants. Students accepted into the program will learn about workplace safety, hand and power tools, construction math for measuring, fractions and basic geometry while earning a Work Ready credential, OSHA 10, NCCER, and RRP certifications.
After successfully completing the program, graduates will be eligible for construction jobs with starting of more than $14 an hour.

The construction program is a partnership involving the CareerCenter, Maine Adult Education, Western Maine Community Action, the John T. Gorman Foundation, Community Concepts, the city of Lewiston, Take 2, FedCap, and the Central/Western Maine Workforce Development Board.
