Maine School Administrative District 52 Adult Education in Turner and Lewiston Adult Education are teaming up again to offer the College Transition Program.
The LER 115 Transition to College course will be done in partnership with Central Maine Community College and held remotely starting Jan. 19. The class will meet online every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Students will build skills needed for college success, such as improving writing skills, learning about financial aid, having better time management, and creating goals for success in college and their career. The College Transition Program has been offered for several years in area adult education programs and the logical next step was to work with the local community college to help students succeed. The program is funded through a state grant and is offered at no cost to students.
Bryan Brito, Ph.D., from MSAD52 Adult Education and an adjunct instructor at CMCC, along with Amy Hatch of Lewiston Adult Education will co-teach LER-115 Bridges- Transition to College. The teachers had a successful semester with the class last fall and are excited about the spring semester.
To register, email Bryan Brito at bbrito@cmcc.edu or Amy Hatch at ahatch@cmcc.edu.
