Dawn Hartill will teach her Standup Comedy Workshop class beginning Feb. 25.
Students will have a chance to test their abilities again with the return of a full week of classes at Lewiston Adult Education starting Feb. 23 that will include the Standup Comedy Workshop and the exercise class Stretch & Strengthen.
The Winter-Spring 2021 brochure that features Lewiston classes and those from Auburn Adult & Community Education has gone out to general delivery customers in Lewiston and Auburn. In addition to mailing in sign-up forms, people can also register on the Lewiston Adult Education website at www.lewiston.maineadulted.org.
Many classes for the semester have will be online, such as Apples & Other Fruit Trees, Landlord-Tenant Relations and Plan a Magical Disney Vacation. Others including Stretch & Strengthen and Standup Comedy Workshop will be in-person, requiring students to wear masks and to socially distance as precautions against the spread of COVID-19.
Because of the construction of the addition to Lewiston High School, though, the in-person classes will be held at the Adult Learning Center at Longley School on 145 Birch St. in Lewiston.
The release of the winter-spring brochure was delayed until February rather than the usual time of late January.
“Our hope is that with a vaccine and the wind-down of the typical cold and flu season we can provide a safe in-person atmosphere for our learners,” Lewiston Adult Education Director Bill Grant said in a letter in the brochure.
Anyone with questions about the new semester can contact Mike Reagan from Lewiston Adult Education at mreagan@lewistonpublicschools.org or 207-795-4141.
