LEWISTON
A new summer certified nursing assistant program through Lewiston Adult Education begins in July.
The class will run two days a week for 10 weeks. beginning on July 14. Lewiston Adult Education is offering the program with the support of Central Maine Community College and with clinical training being held at Clover Manor.
The class will be free for all eligible applicants.
“It’s a great way to start your healthcare career,” Lewiston Adult Education Assistant Director Razell Ward said.
CNAs provide direct patient assistance in hospitals, residential care facilities, and homes. Students will participate in hands-on lab and classroom instruction along with preparing for the state exam.
Applicants must complete the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) assessment, an interview and complete a background check by July 1.
